Pennyweight Winery

Pennyweight Winery is a charming, multigenerational family estate perched just outside Beechworth, Victoria, overlooking the historic Pennyweight Flat goldfields. Founded in 1982 by Stephen Newton Morris and his wife Elizabeth—part of a winemaking lineage that stretches back to the 1860s—the winery operates two certified organic and biodynamic, dry‑land vineyards in both the Beechworth and Rutherglen regions.

All fruit is hand‑harvested at cool morning hours, processed with minimal intervention, and aged in traditional oak casks—some imported from Spain in the early 20th century—yielding expressive table wines and legendary fortified styles like their signature Pennyweight Gold and Constance Fino.
