Ellis Wines

Ellis Wines is a family-owned winery established in 1999 by Bryan and Joy Ellis, located on rich red Cambrian soils in the Heathcote region near Bendigo, Victoria. Spanning over 123 hectares, their vineyards are planted primarily with Shiraz, Merlot, Viognier, Moscato, and Cabernet Sauvignon—each block thoughtfully named after family members like Joy, Kathy, and Ruby. Originally supplying fruit to other wineries, the family launched their Signature label in 2009, inspired by their growing passion for winemaking and the remarkable quality of their estate fruit.

Their wines are celebrated for their elegance and regional character, particularly the Heathcote Shiraz and Viognier, and have earned accolades such as a 5-star rating in the 2021 Halliday Wine Companion and recognition as one of the Top 10 Dark Horse Wineries. Visitors to their urban cellar door in Bendigo—housed in a converted auto workshop—can enjoy tastings of their Premium, Signature, and Rebel range wines as well as cheese, chocolate pairings, and a warm, family-style welcome.
